Michael Kelly has always had a passion for the land, being from a fourth generation farming family. He was introduced to vineyards and wineries by the late Dr John Middleton of Mount Mary Vineyard in the Yarra Valley.
Having graduated with a degree in wine science from Charles Sturt University, Michael has won a number of Australian and international awards at Fermoy Estate, Margaret River. Prior to that he learnt his craft at Mount Mary and Seville Estate in Victoria, Leeuwin Estate and Sandalford in Western Australia and Domaine Louis Chapuis in Burgundy, France, as well as consulting in Tuscany, Italy.
Over the past two decades the Kelly family have developed a vineyard and olive grove in the esteemed Wilyabrup sub-region of Margaret River with the release their own label, Della Fay. The range of wines includes Margaret River's flagship varietals cabernet sauvignon, merlot and chardonnay, in addition to Italian varietals nebbiolo and vermentino. Vibrant shiraz fruit sourced from the Geographe region is part of the selection too.
