The 2018 Chardonnay vintage will go down as one of the best years we have had in recent memory. This wine highlights the best that Margaret River chardonnay has to offer with rich aromas of stone fruit and pear abound, with a nicely balanced palate full of flavour. The barrel fermentation always gives the wine a generous textural component in the mouth that adds length and an impression of vanilla.
Chardonnay has become the flagship white varietal from Margaret River. The 2018 vintage was warmer and drier than previous years which created perfect growing conditions for the fruit to develop. After machine picking, the wine was made in a very traditional way with 100% barrel fermentation in new French oak barriques from the Alliers and Vosges forrests. After a year on yeast lees post fermentation the wine is racked, filtered and bottled.
